Degree Requirements
Pacific’s MSW program offers an advanced generalist practice degree. It is a full-time, two-year program (64 credits). Advanced Standing students typically complete only the second year’s curriculum, but individual backgrounds may require additional coursework; a minimum of 33 credits is required.
Students receive a foundation in human rights and social justice and gain skills in providing culturally responsive services, mental health diagnoses, and advanced therapeutic approaches. All students follow the same course schedule during their first year. If desired, during the second year students can concentrate in Health & Wellness (H&W) or Latino Family and Culture (LFC). The generalist Health and Wellness concentration is designed to prepare social workers to meet the urgent need among individuals and families to gain access to affordable, high quality health and wellness services. The Latino Family and Culture concentration is designed to prepare social workers to work cross-culturally in order to address the multiple issues and challenges faced by the largest and one of the fastest growing populations in the United States.
Total: 16 or 17 Credits
*Only Advanced Standing students take SOCWK 600 .
