Introduction
Learn the French language, which is spoken by about 200 million people on five continents, as well as the rich traditions of French-speaking countries. The French program pairs the classroom immersion experience with cultural experiences on campus. Students engage with French language speakers using state-of-the-art technology in the Center for Languages and International Collaboration. Students are encouraged (but not required) to study abroad in France for one semester or to participate in short-term travel courses to different parts of the French-speaking world.

Total: 24 Credits
Students completing a French minor must complete a minimum of 16 credits of French offerings at Pacific regardless of their initial placement level.
Program Learning Outcomes
- Achieve linguistic proficiency in French for listening, speaking, reading and writing equivalent to ACTFL* Intermediate Mid.
- Demonstrate sensitivity to cultural differences, reflect on their own culture, and explain differences between their own culture and the cultures of the French-speaking world.
