Introduction
Data Science is one of the most promising and in-demand career paths for skilled professionals. Data scientists obtain, manage, analyze, and extract useful information from data. The Post-baccalaureate Certificate program in Data Science at Pacific University is intentionally designed to allow working professional to update their skill set and prepare for a data-driven career in this rapidly growing field. The program consists of 4 courses (14 credits) and provides a solid foundation in data science. Our strategically developed courses focus on building industry-relevant skills.
Students can select one of two tracks:
- Machine Learning, Fall and Spring semesters of even academic years (e.g. Fall 2024 & Spring 2025);
- Statistical Learning, Fall and Spring semesters of odd academic years (e.g. Fall 2023 & Spring 2024).
Students in the program form a cohort participating in courses during Fall and Spring semesters of one academic year. A track for the Data Science Post-baccalaureate Certificate is completed in two semesters. All classes in the program are offered in HyFlex format with courses offered synchronously in-person and online.
