Social Work, MSW

Introduction

Pacific’s Master of Social Work program offers an advanced generalist practice degree. Students receive a foundation in human rights and social justice and gain skills in providing culturally responsive services, mental health diagnoses, and advanced therapeutic approaches. During both the foundation and concentration years of the program, students serve their field education practicums under the supervision of an MSW field instructor and the administration of the MSW field director.

Program Length

The MSW is a full-time, two-year program (64 credits). Advanced Standing students typically complete only the second year’s curriculum, but individual backgrounds may require additional coursework; a minimum of 33 credits is required.

Our Student Learning outcomes are set forth from the Educational Policy and Accreditation Standards (2015) of the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE). Specifically, the master of social work program at Pacific seeks to:
