Introduction
Musical performance is at the center of preparation for a career in music. This is nowhere more evident than in the study of piano. Pianists are in constant demand not only as solo performers, but also in chamber music and as collaborative pianists in a wide variety of settings. Students of piano performance refine their skills through live performance, the exploration of piano literature and also the opportunity to teach piano. Students are encouraged in their work not only as solo performers, but also in collaboration with others in small and large ensemble settings-both in rehearsal and performance- to better prepare them for the many professional possibities that arise professionally for pianists.
