PSY 358 - Psychology of Ethnic Diversity in US

Psychological theory and research in ethnic identity and ethnicity and their effects on social relationships, well-being, and physical health will be reviewed. Current and classic research on ethnicity, resiliency, cultural, trauma, and family socialization will be discussed. Students will investigate current events and their own personal concepts of ethnic identity. How intersecting identities of race, ethnicity, gender, class and sexuality affect psychosocial adjustment are addressed.

Core Requirement(s): Counts toward core requirement: Diverse Perspectives.Prerequisite(s): PSY 150  with a minimum grade of C ENGW 201  strongly recommended.
