GPSY 581 - Statistics I 3 credit(s) This first course in the sequence focuses on basic statistical techniques as applied to design and interpretation of experimental and observational research, with special emphasis on sampling distributions, statistical inference and estimation, statistical power, and sample size estimation for common statistical tests. Methods include measures of association, t-tests, ANOVA, chi-square, and non-parametric versions of standard parametric tests. This course includes the use of statistical computer software. Emphasis will be placed on the application of statistical techniques with data from a variety of settings (e.g., research lab, school, organization/business, etc.).
Prerequisite(s): GPSY 580 APS only.
