SOC 200 - Introduction to Sociological Thought 4 credit(s) An overview of sociological thought and theory that develops an understanding of the relationship between the self and society. Course will includes discussions on developing a sense of self, the social nature of identities, how institutions operate within the larger social and cultural context, and how social systems and ideologies influence our sense of self, relationships with others, and positions with society, and social organization. Prerequisite(s): Sophomore standing (30 or more completed credits) or 4 credits from SOC, ANTH, CJLS, GSS, JEDI, SOCWK or PH
