ENV 307 - Agroecology 4 credit(s) Integrates scientific, cultural tradition, and political action as a means to transcend conventional agricultural practices that contribute to environmental degradation and global climate change. This class explores how food can be produced using an ecological framework and how to apply a systems thinking methodology in the production and support of vibrant and sustainable food systems. In addition to conceptual learning, course time will be devoted to the practical application of horticulture, soil science, and agricultural technologies. Students can expect a combination of coursework and fieldwork. Offered: Alternate years
