Students are introduced to typography and its role in the visualization of language, historically and presently through an assortment of applications. Students are introduced to readability, legibility, color, and appropriate application in both traditional and new media. Theory and practice of letterforms and typography as they apply to graphics, advertising and other areas of design and visual communication.
