OPT 614 - Pediatric & Developmental Optometry

This course covers vision as part of the total development of the human being; the inter-relationship between visual abilities, other sensory, motorand cognitive functions. Emphasis is on normal development of refractive and binocular vision from birth to adult. Students learn the age-appropriate tests for evaluating the vision of children and will be able to effectively prescribe lenses and/or additional therapies to promote thevisual and overall development of pediatric patients.
