PH 234 - Intro to Health Economics 4 credit(s) Students in the health economics course will apply basic economic theory and empirical analysis to study how socioeconomic status, public policy actions, and individual decisions influence health outcomes. The economics of public and private insurance markets comprises another important area of study in the course. The functions and outcomes in the United States health care system will be studied in detail and compared with those in other nations. Students receiving ECON/PH 334 credit may not receive PH 234 credit. Also listed as ECON 234. Offered: Alternate years
