DPT 510 - Clinical Biomechanics I 4 credit(s) Designed to provide the student with the biomechanical basis for understanding normal and pathological movement as well as fundamental tissue mechanical characteristics. DPT 510 is organized by anatomic region, and though each region is discussed as a unit, every effort is made to clarify continuities among regions. The discussion of each region includes sections on normal biomechanics and the application of biomechanics to some pathological movement or injuries. In addition, each section incorporates units on range of motion, muscle testing, palpation, and concepts of stretching and strengthening related to the biomechanical principles of each joint to aid in diagnosis and the design of exercise programs.
