DPT 740 - Intro to Medical Imaging for PTs

Introduction to medical imaging for physical therapists. The course includes basic principles of medical imaging, including MRI, and develops a systematic approach to viewing medical images and clinical reasoning for when to recommend imaging studies, which studies are most applicable, and interpretation of imaging findings related to the clinical presentation. An interactive format is used, as students participate in viewing medical images and discussing findings with members of the class. Case studies are used to assist students in interpreting findings of medical images when planning examination and intervention in physical therapy practice when appropriate. Pass/No Pass.
