OPT 617 - Optometric Case Analysis 4 credit(s) Explores basic data analysis of, treatment prioritization and prescribing for patients with non-strabismic accommodation and vergence dysfunctions, vertical imbalances and presbyopia including common clinical management considerations. Bioengineering models and traditional considerations of accommodation and vergence interactions/dynamics are applied in diagnosis, treatment and management recommendations. Use of underlying assumptions of physiological optics; introduction to normative models of analysis; links between visual dysfunctions and symptoms; the role of formalized analysis systems within the broad framework of examination / diagnosis / treatment / prognosis; epidemiology of relevant ocular and visual anomalies.
