OPT 615 - Vision Therapy 3 credit(s) Provides an overview of case history, accommodative, vergence, oculomotor, and sensory fusion assessment to facilitate development of a vision therapy program. A Bioengineering Model of Accommodation and Vergence is applied to the process. This course emphasizes sequential vision therapy treatment steps for nonstrabismic accommodative, vergence and oculomotor conditions, including post-therapy management. A structure to introduce the design and utilization of common vision therapy instruments and procedures is provided. Other treatment options are reviewed, including the use of lenses, prism, and computer-based programs. An overview of incorporation of vision therapy into a variety of optometric practice settings is presented.
