ENGL 431 - Literature & Publishing: Special Topics 4 credit(s) An in-depth study of a Major Writer with the background material of his or her experiences with publishing. Each section of the course will explore the works of an author within the historical, technological and economic context of his/her contemporary modes of publication. For example: Dickens’ experience provides a particularly illustrative example of serialized publication practices and their influences on the style of 19th century fiction. Prerequisite(s): Junior standing or above (60 or more completed) and 2 courses (minimum 2 each) from ENGL 200-level or above.
