CHEM 438 - Bioinorganic Chemistry 2 credit(s) This course explores the role of metals in biological systems. Topics include a review of basic coordination chemistry and biochemistry, metal uptake and transport, metallo-protein structure and function, metal complexes as therapeutics and imaging agents, and the physical methods used to study these topics. Analysis of papers from the primary literature will be included. Prerequisite(s): CHEM 330 and CHEM 380 , both with a minimum grade of C.
