Introduction

The Bachelor of Education in Teaching and English Language Learning program prepares teacher candidates to be teacher leaders and advocates. Each semester includes school-based teaching experiences, individual mentoring, and integration of coursework. Students pursuing teacher licensure through either the Full-time or Hybrid Bachelor of Education in Teaching and English Language Learning program will be prepared for the Elementary-Multiple Subjects endorsement, or a Single Subjects endorsement in Advanced Mathematics, Biology, Integrated Science, English/Language Arts, and Social Sciences; other single subject endorsements may be available with approval. English to Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) endorsements and Foundational (Middle grade) endorsements may be added to either an Elementary Multiple Subjects or a single subject endorsement. Students not pursuing teacher licensure will complete action research work involving education advocacy in school settings, or complete supervised work in preparation to be an educational assistant.
