Introduction
Learn the language and culture of Germany, the largest economy in Europe. The German program pairs the classroom immersion experience with cultural experiences on campus. Students engage with German language speakers using state-of-the-art technology in the Center for Languages and International Collaboration. Students who minor in German are encouraged (but not required) to study abroad for one semester in Germany or Austria, or to participate in short-term travel courses to Germany.

Program Learning Outcomes
- Achieve linguistic proficiency in German for listening, speaking, reading and writing equivalent to ACTFL* Intermediate Mid,
- Demonstrate sensitivity to cultural differences, reflect on their own culture, and explain differences between their own culture and the cultures of the German-speaking world.
