Introduction
A minor in Sports Communication would pair well with majors in Sports Leadership and Management, Business, the Media Arts, Kinesiology, and Sociology to add a dimension of communications regarding human performance and competition to these areas of study. Sports Communication minors will develop an interdisciplinary skill set in contemporary communication practices that will enable them to research, analyze, design, and deliver strategic messaging in a variety of formats for a diverse audience.

Minor Requirements: 24 Credits
All of the Following: 14 Credits
Electives: 10 Credits
Four credits must be upper-division. Four credits must be from MEDA courses.

Program Learning Outcomes
By completing a minor in sports communication, students will be able to:
- Create effective messages in a variety of formats that are appropriate to specific audiences.
- Describe the unique characteristics of the field of sports and how they affect the communication process.
- Create work that reflects an understanding of the legal and ethical implications of communication in sports-related industries.
- Communicate effectively via written, oral, visual or other means appropriate to the intended audience.
