Dyslexia Certificate

The Dyslexia Certificate is a 15-credit program culminating in either an Undergraduate Certificate or a Post-Baccalaureate Certificate. Each course aligns with the International Dyslexia Association (IDA) and International Literacy Association (ILA) Standards, ensuring well-prepared, successful candidates. The courses address the foundational aspects of literacy acquisition and development, literacy assessment methodologies, and literacy instructional strategies for phonological awareness, phonics, vocabulary, comprehension and fluency. Field work experience is embedded in each course, to ensure candidates have an opportunity for observation and practical application.

Upon successful completion of the Dyslexia Certificate coursework and fieldwork, candidates will either earn an undergraduate or post-baccalaureate certificate credential. Students seeking the Post-Baccalaureate Certificate must show proof of a conferred baccalaureate degree in order to be considered for admission into the program.

(Amended 10/18/2023 to show specific coursework required for each credential option.)
