Introduction
The Dance minor is available to all undergraduate students. Dance studies complement majors in theatre, music, visual arts, media arts, kinesiology, education, and psychology. The Dance minor offers a strong emphasis on creativity through performance and choreography.
A minimum of 8 upper-division credits is required. Courses taken for the 0-credit option will not be applied toward completed credits for the minor. Students must complete a minimum of 16 credits from the Dance Minor courses.

Program Learning Outcomes
Students completing a Dance minor will:
- demonstrate technical and artistic proficiency in dance technique, performance, and creative inquiry.
- demonstrate collaborative skills by working together as a company throughout the creative process and performance in various roles such as a director, leader, and dancer– while developing peer review skills on own and peers’ work.
- demonstrate knowledge of holistic anatomical approaches synthesized through the creative process and safe dance practices.
- interpret, analyze, and critique topics and issues of dance globally, while relating them to contemporary society and communicate their analyses through multiple modes including choreography, performance, research and presentation, and community outreach.
