Program Details

Program Length

Four years for a complete BA degree. Two years for students transferring in with an AAOT degree. Program length may vary depending upon the student’s course load and academic progress.

Program Learning Outcomes

By successfully completing a major in Music, Instrumental Performance, students will be able to:

Demonstrate a knowledge of music theory and history.
Demonstrate proficiency on a chosen instrument/voice.
Demonstrate a proficiency in general musicianship, aural skills and sight-reading.
Creatively explore and research a topic related to a specific area of musical interest such as (but not limited to)- music history, composition, world music and culture, sociology and aesthetics of music.
Produce a thesis presentation representing specialized research in a chosen area of musical inquiry.
