The major in History teaches students how to analyze individuals, ideas, events, and organizations from the past. By honing critical reading, thinking, and writing skills, majors can transfer these abilities to a wide array of careers in education, the law, business, banking, and so much more.
At least 16 credits of 300-level or above in history (excluding HIST 391, HIST 491, and HIST 492), an approved internship, or approved study abroad credits.
*If more than one is taken, it/they will count as upper-division elective(s).

Program Length
Four years for a complete BA degree. Two years for students transferring in with an AAOT degree. Program length may vary depending upon the student’s course load and academic progress.
