Introduction
Fine Arts majors practice technical skills to develop personal expressions and interpretations that investigate aesthetic and conceptual boundaries of topics relevant in the world today. Students are asked to explore concepts and design through an iterative and reflective creative process, encouraging well-considered final artworks. The program leads Fine Arts majors through four studio levels, Studio I: The Creative Process, Studio II: Skill and Technique, Studio III: Concept: Studio IV: Capstone. Capstone students are mentored by one or more faculty throughout their senior year to create an authentic body of work that is exhibited in the Cawein Gallery on campus. Students also give a presentation about their work during Senior Project Day. The Fine Arts program offers a solid foundation for students wanting to build a portfolio for entry level experience for careers in art, a Master of Arts in Art Education, or a Masters in Fine Arts.
