Introduction
The degree in Accountancy requires 150 credits and is designed for students seeking a career as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). It will prepare students for successful careers in auditing, financial accounting, managerial accounting and tax. A concentration can be added with the exception of Accounting (Management, Financial, Marketing, or International Business).
Each must complete the following requirements: 8 credits in economics, 4 credits in statistics, and 78 credits of BA and ACCT. Each student works with an academic advisor in the College to design a customized selection of elective courses that best fit the interests of the student.
A minimum 2.0 grade point average is required in all business, accounting, and economics courses; only grades of C- or above (or “Pass”) may be used to satisfy major requirements. The senior capstone, BA 490, must be completed in residence at Pacific.
Program Length
4-5 academic years or an extra 1 to 2 semesters from a typical bachelors degree. However, the student will be qualified to immediately sit for the CPA exam.
