Introduction

The study of musical performance is at the center of preparation for a career in music.  Through study in the vocal arts, students are prepared for live performance in traditional and contemporary vocal genres and learn flexible techniques which can be utilized in a variety of professional settings.  Students also study the history of singing, lyric diction and vocal music literature as well as the pedagogical techniques necessary to create a successful vocal studio.  Vocal performance students are given frequent opportunities to showcase their talents in solo and ensemble performances to demonstrate growth, refine skills and further help to prepare them for a lifetime of singing.
