SOCWK 690 - Suicide in Marginalized Populations 3 credit(s) Elective course that provides students with the foundational skills and knowledge required to provide social work services to people experiencing suicidal ideation, and those who have lost someone to suicide. Addresses the unique needs of populations that experience oppression and marginalization, including those who identify as Latinx, Native American, LGBTQ+, homeless, and other populations. Students will learn to screen, assess, and provide interventions to people experiencing suicidal thoughts or behaviors, and provide support to those who have lost a loved one to a suicide death.
