MUS 301 - Music in the Elementary School 4 credit(s) An examination of techniques and materials for teaching classroom vocal and instrumental music in the elementary school for the prospective music specialist. Emphasis on lesson planning, Orff, Kodaly methods; the rote song, reading-readiness, the reading song, the rhythm program, the listening lesson, and creative music. Observation of music-making in the elementary school classroom and directed teaching. Offered: Offered alternate years.
