ARTST 208 - Design for Function 4 credit(s) Students will explore the functional aspects of design related to user comfort, structural integrity, and manufacturability. Includes an introduction to 3D modeling software to produce digital models that can be constructed with computer-controlled fabrication technologies such as 3D printers, laser cutters or CNC milling machines, or with traditional materials such as wood, metal, or clay. Students will work individually and collaboratively at various points in the semester to complete projects that address real world problems. Some course materials will be supplied; however, students may be required to purchase additional materials necessary to complete individual projects. Offered: Spring
