ARTHI 331 - Adv History of Photography 2 credit(s) Course introduces students to the history of photography, from its beginnings in the 19th century to the recent practices of photographers and artists working with photographic technologies and concepts within the context of postmodernity and contemporary art. In a contextual examination, we will also explore the meaning and functions of photography created within specific social, political, historical, and artistic contexts. This is offered as a bi-level course with ARTHI 231. Students cannot take both ARTHI 231 and ARTHI 331 for credit. Offered: Spring, alternate years
