MATH 206 - Computational Linear Algebra 4 credit(s) This course is intended as an introduction to Linear Algebra with emphasis on the computational aspects of the material. Topics will include vectors, matrix algebra, determinants, solving systems of linear equations, Gaussian elimination, matrix factorization, eigenvalues/eigenvectors, diagonalization, and singular value decomposition. Additional topics may include principle component analysis, least squares regression, and gradient method of steepest descent. This course will include programming assignments in MATLAB, R, and/or other computer algebra systems. Prerequisite(s): MATH 226 with a minimum grade of C (may be taken concurrently) or Math placement III or higher.
