MUS 212 - Music Theory IV 4 credit(s) A continuation of MUS 211. This course examines the basic harmonic, melodic, rhythmic, and formal procedures of late 19th and 20th century music. Primary topics will be the extension of tonality, chromaticism, impressionism, quartal harmony, atonality, serialism, electronic media, and minimalism. Projects will include students’ original compositions. Offered: Spring
