DPT 500 - Human Anatomy I

Advanced study of the gross structure and histology of the human body. Special emphasis is placed on the musculoskeletal, nervous, cardiovascular and respiratory systems. The course is organized by regions of the body, with the emphasis on the gross anatomy of each region. In addition, the microstructure specific to the tissues discussed will be studied. The course has a lecture and a laboratory component. The lab sessions will involve regional dissection of cadavers, and parallel the information covered in the lecture material. Encompasses upper extremity, including bones, joints, muscles, nerves, blood vessels and connective tissues, as well as head and neck, thorax, and abdominal wall and abdominal contents.
