DPT 590 - Research Methods and Statistics 2 credit(s) Introduction to research methods and biostatistics. The student will be exposed to the research process, including question formulation, measurement principles, research design, and reliability and validity. Biostatistics principles including choosing statistical tests, basic probability concepts, probability distributions, chi-square, t-tests, and ANOVA will be covered. Basic principles of correlation, regression, and epidemiology will also be addressed. The course emphasis is on development of an adequate understanding of research methods and biostatistics to serve as a basis for analyzing, critiquing, and clinically applying the results of published literature relevant to the profession of physical therapy.
